A Sedalia man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover that occurred in Pettis County early Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 26-year-old Talbert E. Richard was the driver of a northbound 2005 Chevrolet on Route U at Smasal Road at 1 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned several times, struck a barbed wire fence and came to rest against a tree.

Richard was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Bryan Morley. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report. The body was taken to the Pettis County Coroner's Office.

The Chevy was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Towing.
