An 18-year-old Sedalia man suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday morning in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Gary S. Lahmeyer, 67, Sedalia, was the driver of an eastbound 1997 Chevy S-10 on State Route F, just west of Highway 65 at 10 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, continued to travel eat in the ditch before returning to the roadway with its passenger-side tires. The driver then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to rotate counter-clockwise as it returned to the ditch, sliding eastward. The Chevy then struck a field entrance with its passenger side, causing it to overturn. The vehicle then struck two fence posts before coming to rest on its top on the north side of the roadway, facing northwest.

A passenger, Sean Murray, 18, was transported to University of Columbia by Lifeflight. He was not wearing a safety device, according to the report. The driver was wearing a safety device.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.
