The following Sedalia Police and Pettis County Sheriff's reports come from the morning of Monday, Mar. 11, 2013.

Sedalia Police Involved in a Chase

Friday evening (Mar. 8), Sedalia Police were traveling south on Ohio, approaching 18th, when they saw a white Cadillac traveling north on Ohio. The vehicle passed Sedalia Police and then accelerated at a high rate of speed. The car stopped at 17th Street and two occupants fled on foot from the car. Sedalia Police pursued the suspects on foot and caught the passenger of the vehicle. However, the driver managed to get away. Lance Wood was arrested for failure to obey and resisting arrest, bond was set at $1,067. Sedalia Police did identify the driver and have applied for state charges towards him.

Several Thefts Reported In Area

Sedalia Police went to the 200 Block of South Quincy for a reported burglary that happened between 2 p.m. on Mar. 2 and noon on Mar. 4. Someone stole 100 DVDs, a Wii gaming system, Playstation, six Wii games, four Playstation games, four large and small eagle statues.

A woman in the 300 Block of North Prospect reported to Sedalia Police that $350 was stolen from her bedroom between 4 and 4:30 p.m. on Mar. 8.

WP Sales & Salvage of Windsor reported to Pettis County Deputies that there was a theft from their business between 5 p.m. on Mar. 3 and 9 a.m. on Mar. 6.

A woman in the 200 Block of South Grand reported to Sedalia Police that 25 feet of copper piping was stolen from her basement between 7 a.m. on Mar. 7 and noon on Mar. 8.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that someone entered his two vehicles in the 2300 Block of East 16th and stole the change out of the ashtrays between 5:15 p.m. on Mar. 8 and 9:30 a.m. on Mar. 9.

A woman from Green Ridge reported to Pettis County Deputies that several items were stolen from her vehicle sometime between 3 and 3:30 a.m. on Mar. 10.

A man from Eureka, Mo. reported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office that there was a forgery on his car title that was done sometime since September of 2012.

Two Assaults Being Investigated

A woman reported to Pettis County Deputies that she was assaulted by somebody she knows on the morning of Mar. 6.

Sedalia Police is investigating a reported assault that occurred in the 1100 Block of West 3rd.

Pettis County Deputies received a report from a woman that someone damaged her property in the 1300 Block of East Boonville.

Several Arrests Made Over Weekend

Sedalia Police arrested Zane Meyer for having a Pettis County probation violation, bond set at $1,500 cash/surety and a Cole County warrant, bond set at $5,000 cash/surety.

Sedalia Police arrested Robert Bemiss for driving while suspended, bond set at $533.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Scott Vansel for having a Pettis County warrant for larceny, bond set at $441.50.

Sedalia Police arrested Eugene Sharp for failure to appear, bond set at $300.

Sedalia Police arrested Steven Bartlett for failure to appear, bond set at $141.50.

Pettis County Deputies arrested Victor Sarioglo for two active Pettis County warrants for failure to appear.

Pettis County Deputies arrested 23-year-old David Woolery for resisting arrest, defacing a manufacturers vehicle identification number and numerous traffic violations.

A man reported to Sedalia Police that he lost his wallet at the Kwiki Car Wash on March 9 around 2 p.m.
