Johnson county accident injures a Kansas City woman

At 9:24 Sunday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle injury accident on county road 1821 just South of county road Northwest 450, in Johnson County.  The accident occurred as the 2000 Chevrolet driven by 41-year-old Earl Speed of Lone Jack traveled off the roadway, struck a bridge and overturned, coming to rest in a creek bed on the passenger side.  A passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Jessica Held of Kansas City, Missouri, received moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment. The accident report states charges are pending.

 

Suspect with a probation violation warrant is arrested early this (Tuesday) morning

At 2:50 this morning, Sedalia police located a suspect known to have an active Pettis County warrant for a probation violation.  23-year-old Leon Hinkley of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and was being held without bond at the time of the police report.

 

31-year-old Sedalia man is arrested on a warrant following a subject check

Around 1:20 this morning, Sedalia police made contact with a subject walking in the street at East Broadway and New York when a sidewalk was available. A subsequent check on the suspect identified as 31-year-old Bradley Ford of Sedalia revealed he had an active warrant out of Pettis County.  Ford was arrested, and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $3500 bond.

 

61-year-old Sedalia man arrested on an active warrant Monday morning

At 4:39 Monday morning, Sedalia police arrested 61-year-old Thomas Averbeck on an active warrant out of Pettis County for failure to appear on a bad check charge. At the time of the police report, Averbeck was in the Pettis County jail pending a $1500 bond.

 

Shoplifters at the Family Dollar arrested Monday morning

Around 9:40 Monday morning, the Sedalia police were dispatched to the Family Dollar located at 612 South Hancock on a report of three people shoplifting in the store. The police report states the three suspects were located a short time later.  Arrested in the incident were 42-year-old Tina Bradley and 21-year-old Lindsey Winkler of Sedalia. Both women were taken to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges for stealing. Police are also seeking city charges on a third suspect on a charge of stealing.

 

According to a police report, 20-year-old Amanda Knight-Lintz of Sedalia turned herself in to the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department on a failure to appear warrant. Bond was set at $125 cash only.

A Sedalia woman reported her wallet was stolen from behind her desk at Workforce Development located at $3208 West 16th. The wallet was recovered later under a dumpster, but the thief had removed a company credit card and $200 in cash from it. There may be video evidence according to the police report.

A Sedalia woman reported her credit card information was used in Georgia to make several unauthorized purchases. She last used the card at Cost Cutters here in Sedalia according to the police report.

A victim in the 600 block of North Quincy reported several items stolen from a residence he was moving from in the 500 block of West Morgan. Value of the stolen items was set at $330. There are no suspects.
