Sedalia Police reports 2-4-20

Sedalia Police arrested 38-year-old James M. Steilling at American Inn, 1217 South Limit, at 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning. He was wanted on a Johnson County Kansas FTA felony warrant and was also a fugitive from justice. Steilling was taken to the Pettis County Jail for booking.


 

Sedalia Police arrested two people in the 1300 block of E. 9th on Saturday afternoon after a warrant check. 22-year-old Tyler James Hill of Windsor was wanted on an FTA warrant out of Pettis County. His bond was $537.50. Also arrested was 29-year-old April Danielle Peterson of Sedalia. She was wanted on a parole violation. She was also taken to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 900 block of South Sneed on Sunday night around 8 p.m. According to a report, the parents heard glass break in their daughter's bedroom and saw a juvenile outside the window. The juvenile ran away and the victim attempted to catch him, but lost sight. $200 of damage was done to the window, the report said. The case was referred to the Juvenile Office.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 18-year-old Cheyanne M. Wiser of Sedalia at 6th and Summit on Friday night around 10:45 p.m. after a traffic stop for no front license plates. A computer check revealed that Wiser was wanted on three FTA Municipal warrants with a total bond amount of $300. She now has a March 4 court date.


 

On Sunday, a man reported that someone shattered the back window of his pickup while it was parked in the 1300 block of E. Boonville overnight. There are no suspects.


 

On Sunday morning, a man reported a hit-and-run that occurred to his semi-truck overnight at 5th and Moniteau. There was moderate damage to the rear end of the vehicle. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.


 

On Sunday morning, a woman reported a hit-and-run that occurred to her vehicle, which was parked overnight in the 600 block of W. 6th. The suspect fled the scene.


 

On Sunday, a woman at Lincoln Hubbard Apartments, 711 North Osage, reported the theft of two license plates.


 

On Sunday, Sedalia Police were called to the 900 block of South Sneed on an out-of-control female juvenile.According to a report, the juvenile ran away from the home the night before, and during a confrontation about that, the daughter punched the mother in the mouth, causing injury. The mother restrained the daughter until officers' arrival. The juvenile attempted to leave by punching and pushing through officers. She kicked one officer in the face during the struggle. The juvenile was subsequently restrained and taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center, and later released to the custody of a juvenile officer.


 

Sedalia Police and EMS personnel were called to the 900 block of W. 10th on a non-breather. Life-saving attempts were unsuccessful, and the Pettis County Coroner was called to the scene. The body was taken to Heckart Funeral Home.


 

On Saturday, 36-year-old Nicole L. Marbut was arrested at Pettis and Lamine after a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling 30 mph in a 20 mph zone. The vehicle also had expired plates. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.


 

On Saturday night around 10:45 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 23-year-old Jessica Lea Reed of Sedalia in the 1300 block of E. 7th. She was wanted for 4th degree domestic assault. Reed was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police seized a license plate at 1217 South Limit that was reported stolen out of Kansas City at 1:17 a.m. Saturday.


 

On Saturday around 9:30 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 43-year-old Timothy Lee Davis of Sedalia after an officer noticed a subject lingering around a church at 24th and Ohio. David was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold. He was also charged with 2nd degree trespassing.


 

Sedalia Police took a theft report in the 500 block of W. 7th on Saturday afternoon. The theft of $71 of items occurred sometime between Friday at 11 a.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.


 

21-year-old Cody Alexander Good of Otterville was arrested for driving while suspended after a traffic stop at 9th and Kentucky Saturday at 2:51 a.m. Good was issued a citation. She now has a March 4 court date.


 

On Friday, WalMart reported the theft of $178 in merchandise from the store. The incident occurred Thursday around 8 p.m.


 

On Friday, Sedalia Police arrested 53-year-old Mark A. Lane of Sedalia in the 1700 block of South Prospect. Lane was found to be driving while suspended after a traffic stop. He was issued a citation and released at the scene.
