Sedalia Police reports for the afternoon of 3-13-20

On Friday at 3:01 a.m., Sedalia Police were called to Denny's, 2401 W. Broadway, on an intoxicated male causing problems and picking fights at the business. Contact was made with the suspect, 22-year-old Joseph A. Nebergall of Warsaw, and he was placed into protective custody due to his level of intoxication. He was then transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center, where he was pronounced fit for confinement. Nebergall was then taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 12-hour hold, until he became sober. Denny's declined to press charges, according to the report.


 

On Thursday, 20-year-old Andrew Justin Max Lange of Sedalia, was arrested and charged with destruction of property. According to a report, Sedalia Police took a report of a broken car window on Feb. 27 at 4:50 a.m. Suspect information was gathered, and on March 12 at 7:17 p.m., Lange was located and arrested. He was issued a court summons for April 15. The estimated damage to the window was $200.

On March 12, Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen vehicle in the 3300 block of South Park. According to a report, a woman had stopped to visit relatives on South Park and left the motor running on her SUV. When she came back outside, she saw her SUV drive by the house. Her relatives called police, jumped in their car and followed the SUV to Dollar General on South Limit. They tried to contact the suspect, but he fled on foot. He was ultimately detained by a third, unrelated witness until officers arrived. 43-year-old Gerald Eugene Scott, Jr., was charged with 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle, stealing and ID theft. Scott was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold, pending the formal filing of charges.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at Liberty Park Boulevard and Summer on a black Mercury for no front plate and no working plate lights on the rear on Thursday. The driver, 44-year-old Patty R. Boggs of Sedalia, was found to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested. Boggs was also found to be in possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold and charged with DWI(drugs), possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.


 

On Thursday afternoon, a man reported the theft of $722.74 worth of items from a storage unit at 3025 Clinton Road over the past two days. Someone cut the lock on the unit and stole the items. There are no suspects.


 

On Thursday morning, a man reported the theft of $1,040 worth of items from a storage unit in the 900 block of E. 3rd. The theft happened between 5 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday. There are no suspects.


 

On Thursday morning, Sedalia Police responded to the 100 block of Autumn to assist Kansas City Police on a possible child abuse case. The crime occurred on Belmont Avenue in Kansas City. A reported was sent to the KCPD.
