Police reports for June 22, 2016

On Saturday, Sedalia Police arrested Scott David Marler, 46, Sedalia, at the Pettis County Courthouse on a warrant. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for an exam, then to the Pettis County Jail on a $7,500 bond.

Police arrested two men in the 400 block of W. 4th Street last Thursday on warrants. Steven Dale Cox, 29, Lincoln, was arrested on a warrant out of Johnson County and one out of Camdenton. Bond for him was set at $7,500. Jonathan D. Hannah, 37, Buffalo, was arrested for Driving While Suspended or Revoked and Failure to Appear on three active warrants out of Benton County. His total bond was set at $50,593.

Christopher E. Demus, 26, Sedalia, was arrested by Sedalia Police for 3rd degree Domestic Assault on his girlfriend, who sustained injuries to her jaw and mouth in the incident which occurred Monday. He was not home at the time police were notified, but located and arrested later in the day. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Richard Len Craig, 47, Sedalia, was arrested for Harassment after police responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of W. 18th. He allegedly threatened a female. located and arrested the next morning, according to the report filed on Monday. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

Gary L. Barnett, 40, Sweet Springs, was arrested for shoplifting at Fav Trip, 216 W. Broadway, after police observed him running quickly behind several businesses while officers responded to an alarm in the 100 block of E. Broadway. He was located between houses in the 500 block of W. Broadway and arrested. He has a court date of Aug. 3 and bond was set at $533.50.

Erika Urieta VillaSenor, 37, Sedalia, was arrested for shoplifting after store security at Kohl's, 4300 Wisconsin Drive, observed her and another female steal two pair of shorts valued at $52. Surveillance video of the two females yielded a vehicle description and a license plate number as they drove off. Police recovered the stolen property and returned it to the store.

Christopher Wayne Mathis, 38, homeless, was arrested for shoplifting at Casey's, 1601 E. Broadway, early Tuesday morning after police responded to a theft in progress at the store.

Melanie L. Swenson, 31, Sedalia, was arrested after a disturbance near 3rd and Quincy on Tuesday night. She was allegedly intoxicated and refusing to leave the caller's residence. Police later found her yelling from a balcony, creating a peace disturbance. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

 
Police took a theft report from the 600 block of S. Moniteau on Monday, where several gaming systems were taken from a residence between 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. The games were estimated at $1,000.

On Monday afternoon, Police took a property damage report in the 1800 block of S. Kentucky, where someone shattered 10 windows, estimated at $600 to repair. A witness reported seeing a white male lurking around the victim's garage earlier and hearing banging noises.

A 2013 Buick Enclave parked in the 1300 block of S. Limit was keyed on June 9, causing $1,100 of damage, it was reported on Tuesday.

A vehicle was reported scratched at an apartment complex at 900 Westwood on Monday. The victim stated that multiple vehicles in the complex have been damaged recently.

On Tuesday, Police took a report of a theft of a small table and three rod iron chairs with wicker seats from the front porch of a residence in the 1100 block of E. 4th Street.

On Monday, Police took a theft report of a license plate in the 400 block of W. 24th within the last two weeks.

David and Linda Hoover, Sedalia, reported a hit-and-run accident that occurred at Main and Grand on Tuesday night. They gave police a description of the vehicle that left the scene.

And early Wednesday morning, Pettis County deputies investigated an assault that occurred in the 3500 block of South Grand. No arrests have yet been made, but the investigation is on-going.
