Sedalia Police reports 11-4-19
Sedalia Police arrested 30-year-old Felicia Ann Brown of Smithton on Oct. 29 after she admitted to stealing $300 from Smoker's Outlet, 1700 E. Broadway, where she worked. Brown was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
Dollar General, 2003 South Limit, reported a shoplifting incident on Oct. 14 According to a report, the security alarm sounded as the suspect left the store around 5:30 p.m. Witnesses gave police a plate number and there is video of the incident available.
Sedalia Police arrested 43-year-old Tony L. Lawson of Sedalia after conducting a subject check at Break Time, 808 E. Broadway at 3:22 a.m. A computer check revealed that Lawson was wanted on a Johnson County warrant for 1st degree tampering with a motor vehicle, a Municipal FTA warrant for defective equipment, and a Pettis County warrant for unlawful possession of a firearm. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $40,060 bond.
Sedalia Police arrested 45-year-old Bryan Alan Mckim of Green Ridge on Friday after he was allegedly involved in a non-injury accident at 10th and Winchester. A report stated he left the scene in a black Chevy southbound on Winchester and was later involved in another crash which occurred outside the city limits. That was was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. It was determined that Mckim was involved in both incidents, and was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
On Saturday evening, Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at 9th and Marvin and found that 48-year-old James E. Miller was wanted on a no-bond felony Pettis County warrant. Miller was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.
On Saturday, Sedalia Police arrested 29-year-old Wylliam Ray Deveney in the 3100 block of Wing Avenue around 9:30 p.m. after officers responded to a disturbance. Deveney was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
On Saturday morning, a woman reported that a $1,000 of damage was done to her driver's door and one tire on her vehicle in the 1300 block of Brianna Drive sometime overnight. There was a suspect named.
On Friday, Sedalia Police took a report in the 2400 block of South Quincy regarding a stolen laptap, valued at $550, and a stolen Nintendo Gaming Switch, valued at $300. The items were taken from a locked vehicle sometime between 12:30 and 6 a.m. Oct. 31.
On Friday, a man reported that a window on his 2007 Nissan Titan was broken and his truck dented in the 100 block of E. 32nd, causing $1,000 of damage. There are no suspects.
On Friday at 11:42 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 25-year-old Evan Christian Bankovich at Broadway and Montgomery after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle with a brake light out. A computer check revealed that the passenger was wanted on a $1500 cash or surety Pettis County warrant. Bankovich was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail. And on Monday at 1:24 a.m., Bankovich was arrested for 1st degree trespassing in the 500 block of North Prospect. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
On Saturday, a woman reported theft of furnitire from outside her home in the 1800 block of E. 5th sometime overnight.
On Saturday morning around 10 a.m., Sedalia Police arrested 32-year-old Welsey Adam Franken of Sedalia on a Pettis County probation violation after conducting a subject check in the 300 block of E. 17th. Franken was placed into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $2,000 cash bond and a $2500 surety bond.
Sedalia Police arrested 52-year-old Jesse R. Smith at Subway, 100 West Broadway, just before 7 p.m. Saturday. Smith was reportedly highly intoxicated and was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 12-hour hold for protective custody.
On Saturday around 12:20 p.m. Sedalia Police arrested 38-year-old Timothy L. Mullen, Jr., at 3rd and Washington and placed him into protective custody at the Pettis County Jail. A report stated he was under the influence of an unknown substance.
On Sunday, Sedalia Police arrested 29-year-old Zachary D. Palmer of Sedalia at Broadway and Mitchell after he was observed riding a bicycle at 4:21 a.m. in the middle of the road with no headlight. Palmer was wanted on a Morgan County warrant.
On Sunday, Sedalia Police took a property damage report in the 2500 block of South Ohio where a suspect spray painted her out building sometime over the past week.
Sedalia Police arrested 37-year-old Jennie Lee Schwermer of Sedalia at 1:53 a.m. Saturday at Eagle Stop, 3415 E. Broadway. Schwermer was wanted on three Municipal warrants totaling $189, and a felony Pettis County warrant with a $7,500 cash or surety bond. Schwermer now has a Dec. 11 court date on the Municipal warrants.
On Friday just before 11 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to 15th and Lafayette for a property damage report. Upon arrival the suspect, Nicholas Mackiewicz, attempted to flee on foot. But he was taken into custody without incident. According to the report, Mackiewicz allegedly was looking into vehicles and house windows, before using a blunt object to strike a window, causing $230 in damage. Mackiewicz was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a 24-hour hold. He was charged with 2nd degree property damage and resisting arrest.
On Sunday afternoon, Sedalia Police took an assault report in the 1200 block of 11th Street. According to the report, several witnesses said that three juvenile males assaulted a juvenile female. She required medical attention at Bothwell Regional Health Center. The suspects had not yet been located at the time of the report.
Sedalia Police arrested Francisco Herrera Cuevas at Broadway and Engineer around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after conducting a traffic stop for speeding. Cuevas was found to be driving without a valid license. He was taken to the SPD for fingerprinting and positive identification. He was later released with a court summons.
On Sunday just before 3 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 35-year-old Waylon Matthew Burns of Sedalia on an FTA Pettis County warrant in the 1200 block of W. 11th. Burns was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $177 cash bond.
On Monday at 12:35 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a black Pontiac for a stop sign violation at 3rd and Warren. The traffic stop took place at 3rd and Beacon. 38-year-old Quinton Noel Gano was found to be driving while suspended. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released.
On Monday at 1:20 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a possible DWI that was called in. The vehicle was eastbound on Broadway, and failed to signal as it turned south onto Hancock. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was found to be intoxicated. 30-year-old Meera Ashok Zaveri of Sedalia was taken to the SPD for further testing and released with a Dec. 11 court date. She was charged with DWI and failure to signal.
