According to a press release from the Sedalia Police Department STING Unit, Sedalia Police detectives along with patrol officers were performing surveillance on a local residence at 3:43 Friday afternoon (Oct. 18), after receiving information that a subject was staying there who had an active warrant out of the state of California and had ties to the Mexican mafia. The press release also stated the suspect was known to be armed and dangerous. While performing the surveillance, the suspect was observed leaving the house, and then leaving in a vehicle.

A high risk traffic stop was performed, and the vehicle pulled into Bing’s parking lot at 1400 South Limit, where the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Albert A. Amaya, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges of being a fugitive from justice and having an active California warrant.
