Tuesday night, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a car at South Montgomery and East 5th for expired plates and an associated driver being suspended through Missouri DOR.

The car failed to yield, and drove about a block and half before stopping. The driver was the suspended subject. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was also intoxicated by drugs and alcohol.

Sarah D. McAteer, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Suspended. A search of the car revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

McAteer was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center and then to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released to a sober person pending state charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Suspended, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
