A Sedalia woman was injured on Monday afternoon after striking the rear of a dump truck in Pettis County.

The MSHP reported that 22-year-old Mattea A. Adams was the driver of a southbound 2013 Ford on US 65, 68 feet north of Route C in Pettis County at 12:50 p.m. when she failed to recognize that a southbound 2009 International Dump Truck was slowed to turn and struck the rear of the truck, and overturned in the median.

Adams suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD for treatment.

The driver of the dump truck, 58-year-old Ronald W. Gassen of Corder, Mo., was reportedly not injured. Both drivers were wearing a safety device, according to the report.

The dump truck had minor damage and was driven from the scene. The Ford was totaled and towed from the scene by In-Motion Towing.
