Slater Man Injured in Saline County Crash
A Slater man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night in Saline County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 1998 Ford, driven by 48-year-old James E. Parrish of Slater was on Highway O, south of 320th Road at 9 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected, traveled off the right side and struck a ditch, causing it to overturn, ejecting the driver.
Parrish suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Ford was totaled.
Saline County Fire, EMS and Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
Parrish was later arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated (persistent offender), driving while revoked, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash, and no seat belt.
