The Smith-Cotton Tigers wrapped-up district play, Friday night, as the team traveled to Belton, to take on the Pirates.

The Belton Pirates scored two quick touchdowns in the 1st quarter. Tiger’s player, Blake Grupe had a 47-yard field goal. And by halftime, the Pirates were up 21-3.

Smith-Cotton played a good second half but they were outscored in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter Tiger’s player, Zach Powell, had two touchdowns.

By the end of the game, the score was 28-17, with Belton defeating Smith-Cotton.

The Smith-Cotton Tigers football is graduating a lot of seniors this year, but a lot of underclassmen will return next year.

The Tiger’s 2016 football season has come to an end, but they will be back in 2017!
