The Smith-Cotton Tigers Football Season Comes to an End as the Belton Pirates Advance

The Smith-Cotton Tigers wrapped-up district play, Friday night, as the team traveled to Belton, to take on the Pirates.

The Belton Pirates scored two quick touchdowns in the 1^st quarter. Tiger’s player, Blake Grupe had a 47-yard field goal. And by halftime, the Pirates were up 21-3.

Smith-Cotton played a good second half but they were outscored in the 3^rd quarter. In the 4^th quarter Tiger’s player, Zach Powell, had two touchdowns.

By the end of the game, the score was 28-17, with Belton defeating Smith-Cotton.

The Smith-Cotton Tigers football is graduating a lot of seniors this year, but a lot of underclassmen will return next year.

The Tiger’s 2016 football season has come to an end, but they will be back in 2017!
