Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Friday afternoon at Highway 50 and Rissler Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound Chevy Cobalt, driven by 66-year-old Linda K. James of Sedalia, attempted to turn left onto westbound 50 at 5:03 p.m., when it traveled into the path of an eastbound 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis driven by 51-year-old Arthur E. Thompson of Otterville. The Marquis struck the Cobalt and slid off the left side of the road.

Thompson, James and her passenger, 32-year-old Michael L. James of Sedalia, suffered minor injuries. All were transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD for treatment. The James' were wearing their seat belts, while Thompson was not, according to the report.

The Marquis had extensive damage, while the Cobalt was totaled.

Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
