Traffic Stop in La Monte Leads to Arrest for Drug Trafficking
On Wednesday afternoon just before 4 p.m., a detective with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force conducted a traffic stop on US 50 eastbound at Highway 127 in the city limits of La Monte.
The driver and sole occupant was identified as Danny Love, 50, of Rocky Mount. During the enforcement contact with Love, various factors were noted that were consistent with those of subjects involved in criminal activity. A search of the vehicle ensued after a positive K9 alert.
During the search, approximately 57 grams of both methamphetamine and fentanyl was located inside of a speaker box.
Love was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. Charges were submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office for two counts of 2nd Degree Drug Trafficking.
