Two Missourians died in a one-vehicle rollover wreck that occurred in Lafayette County Saturday night.

The Misssouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2014 Ford F-150 was on Route D, just south of Route FF, at 10:40 p.m., when the driver, 39-year-old Sean G. Standeford of Oak Grove, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck a Chevron sign, went airborne, struck a tree and overturned.

Standeford and his passenger, 28-year-old Samantha C. Schell of Holden, were pronounced dead at the scene at 11:10 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Joe Cox. Neither were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The bodies were taken to Hoefer Funeral Home in Higginsville.

Oak Grove Police and Lafayette County Deputies assisted the four Troopers on scene.
