Two juveniles were moderately injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Johnson County on Sunday morning.

The MSHP reported that a southbound 2007 Kia driven by a 16-year-old juvenile failed to negotiate a curve at 4:15 a.m. on Missouri 131, south of northwest 90th Road, and skidded out of control, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Both were wearing a safety device, according to the report. The Kia was totaled.

The driver and a 14-year-old juvenile, both from Holden, were moderately injured and transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
