Two people were injured in a Henry County wreck that occurred on Friday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by 21-year-old Whitney J. French of Clinton, was attempting to turn northbound from Highway N to Highway 13 at 10:55 a.m. She failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a southbound 2011 Ford F-250, driven by 59-year-old Darryll L. Moore of Fort Worth, Texas, who was on Highway 13.

The F-250 struck the driver's side of the Focus. Both vehicles came to rest on the east side of Highway 13.

French suffered serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Moore suffered minor injuries. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Both were transported by EMS to Research Medical Center for treatment.

The F-250 had moderate damage, while the Focus was totaled.

French later died of her injuries Sept. 16 at 11:04 p.m. She was pronounced deceased at Research by Dr. Woods and Dr. Kemmer.

French was a senior education major at UCM and was currently student teaching in the Leeton School District at the time of the accident.
