Two Injured in JoCo Head-on Crash

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred Thursday night in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound Dodge Durango, driven by 37-year-old Justin T. Bunting of Warrensburg, was on Missouri 13, one-quarter mile north of NE 700 Road at 8:27 p.m., when the driver attempted to pass three vehicles. The Durango struck a northbound 2001 Ford, driven by 52-year-old Derrick G. Krieger of Higginsville, head-on.

Krieger suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by JCAD. Bunting was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center by JCAD with serious injuries.

Both vehicles were totaled.
