Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday night in Pettis County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a northbound 2001 Chevy Blazer, driven by 20-year-old Eric D. Luetjen of Sedalia, was traveling on New York, south of 28th Street, when it slid off the snow-covered roadway and hit a fence and overturned just before 7 p.m.

Luetjen suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

His passenger, 21-year-old Brianna N. Atkinson of Sedalia, suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital by air ambulance. She was partially ejected from the vehicle, the report said.

Neither of them were wearing a seat belt, according to the Patrol.

The Blazer had extensive damage and was towed by In Motion.

Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
