Two Smithton Residents Arrested in Burglary Case

On Monday, Pettis County Deputies responded to Florence Road and East Smithton Road for a burglary report.

The caller was able to give deputies a detailed description of the suspect vehicle and partial license plate info.

During investigation, deputies were able to identify the suspect vehicle from previous contact. They later located it in the 400 block of South Grand.

In addition, deputies located several items inside the vehicle that was reported stolen to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested two people inside the vehicle, including John Wayne Sant, Sr., of Smithton, and Crystal G. Vansel of Smithton.

Both were arrested for 2nd degree burglary, with a $7,500 bond.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Sheriff Brad Anders.
