Sedalia Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI
UPDATE: As of Monday, Jan. 27, the felony DWI charge and the resisting arrest charge on Goalder were reduced to misdemeanors, according to Casenet # 25PT-CR00075.
On Sunday night around 10 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge for failing to maintain its lane of travel near Broadway and Harrison.
According to Casenet, Police observed the Dodge truck make a slow, wide turn from South Ohio onto West Broadway. The truck straddled the lane divider before finally getting into one lane of travel near Osage. As the truck pass South Kentucky, it again crossed the lane divider, continuing westbound in both lanes of travel. The officer activated his emergency lights for a traffic stop on the Dodge, and the driver continued westbound for another four blocks before pulling over onto South Harrison.
The officer told Goalder he was observed driving down the middle of the road, and Goalder replied that he wasn't.
According to the police report, the driver was uncooperative and it was determined that the driver was intoxicated. The driver refused to exit the vehicle after at least six directives to do so and being informed that he was under arrest.
The probable cause statement said that there were two open containers in the cup holders of Goalder's truck -- a mixed drink and a can of beer.
63-year-old Scott Donald Goalder was then removed from the vehicle and restrained. Goalder was then transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment, and a search warrant was also obtained for a blood draw.
Goalder threatened lawsuits and continued being belligerent, according to the probable cause statement.

A blood draw was then conducted and Goalder was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. He now faces charges of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, which were submitted to the prosecutor.
His bond was set at $1,000. He was released from jail on Monday.
Goalder has a prior DWI out of Iowa and two prior DWIs out of Missouri, as well as one prior for resisting an officer.
