Versailles Man Killed in Morgan County Accident

A 57-year-old Versailles man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Morgan County Monday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Martin E. Callaghan was the driver of a northbound Kawasaki UTV on Lake Road W, one-half mile south of Fresno Road at 12:49 p.m. July 3 when the four-wheeler crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a bridge support and slid down an embankment, ejecting the driver.

Callaghan was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Jones at 1:15 p.m. His body was transported to Kidwell Garber Funeral Home.

Morgan County deputies assisted the Patrolmen at the scene.
