A Warrensburg man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday afternoon in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2010 Chevrolet, driven by 31-year-old Christopher D. Simmons of Warrensburg, was on Route WW, south of SE 950 Road at 3:34 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the roadway. The driver overcorrected, crossed over the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Simmons suffered serious injuries, and was taken by EMS to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

The Chevy was totaled.

Simmons was later arrested by the Patrol at 4:22 p.m., and charged with driving while intoxicated, no seat belt and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail, where he was booked and released.
