If you're wanted in Warrensburg, you can get out of jail this March for free.

Maybe it's more of a metaphysical jail. That feeling of dread you have because you  never paid those tickets you should have, or never showed up for your court date. Well this March is Warresnburg Municipal Amnesty Month.

If you have an active City of Warrensburg Municipal Warrant you can show up to the Court Clerk's office during business hours with a photo ID and the Court Clerk will recall your warrant and schedule you a new court date.

Now there are some caveats to this, so don't say you weren't warned. This offer is only good for City of Warrensburg Municipal Warrants. If you have active warrants in other areas or jurisdictions when you show up for court you could find yourself placed under arrest for those warrants. You also need to show up for your new court date, or well, you could get another warrant.

In case you're wondering, "The Municipal Court for the City of Warrensburg has jurisdiction over traffic and miscellaneous offenses committed within City limits." This according to the City's web page. So warrants related to the types of offenses heard by the Municipal Court are the ones you can "make good" with the City.

New court dates for those who ask the City for amnesty will be scheduled for Tuesday April 6, Tuesday April 13 or Tuesday April 27.

The Municipal Court Clerk's office is located at 102-B Holden Street, Warrensburg, and the phone number is 660-747-9132. The office is open Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST.
