Western Missouri Medical Center’s (WMMC) C.A.R.E.givers Committee partnered with the Salvation Army to bring an Angel Tree of Lights to WMMC.

The C.A.R.E.givers Committee voted to partner with the Salvation Army for their 4th quarter 2018 project. This consisted of decorating a Christmas tree and then adorning the tree with angels from the Salvation Army. Angels were displayed on the tree in the WMMC lobby from Dec. 4 –17.

The angels displayed were local Johnson County children and adults that met criteria outlined by the Salvation Army. These individuals listed a few items each that they would like for Christmas, some simply asking for “whatever you can spare."

Over 52 individuals and 16 families were adopted for Christmas. Along with the presents for the families, WMMC donated 14 hams and five turkeys to the Salvation Army so that each family would also receive a Christmas dinner.

Presents and food were delivered to the Salvation Army Family Services on Monday, Dec. 18. Carlyle Van Lines graciously donated their time and labor by assisting in the delivery of the items.
