Should You Have to Have a Photo ID to Vote? [SURVEY]

As of now, 17 states have laws requiring voters to present photo ID before voting. Some have suggested these regulations may act to disenfranchise poor and minority voters, who could be less likely to have such identification. Last month a judge in Pennsylvania blocked the state from enforcing its voter ID laws in the 2012 election.

Would You Take Trick-or-Treating Away From Your Kid As a Punishment? [POLL]

I was talking about this on the air this morning and there was so much response that I decided to post it here too.  My friend's young son called her "the B-word," so she said he couldn't go trick-or-treating for Halloween. Is that too harsh? Should she let him go? Or should she be consistent and make her threats of punishment have merit?

What’s the Craziest Way You’ve Destroyed Your Cell Phone? [SURVEY]

I hear about people destroying their phones all of the time.  Jumping into a pool with it in their pocket, dropping it to the ground or dropping it in the toilet.  That last one I'll never understand.  When you're at the toilet, you should be too busy to be using your phone.  But I digress.

Vacations: To Take The Kids or To Not Take The Kids [POLL]

When I think about my childhood and the vacations we went on, I wonder if my parents were gluttons for punishment.  My father, the high school math teacher, and my mother would put me, my brother and my sister in the back seat of the car and start the drive.  It was almost always to Clearwater, Florida to visit my grandparents.

Who’s Going to Win the World Series? [SURVEY]

Last night, the San Francisco Giants completed a spectacular NLCS comeback by beating the St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 and taking the series four games to three. The Giants had been facing a 3-1 series deficit just a few days ago, but they're now gearing up for their Fall Classic matchup with the American League-champion Detroit Tigers.

So, who's gonna win?

The National Anthem: Should We Sing It Traditionally or With Style? [POLL]

For the last 10 years, six of those in Sedalia, I have played the National Anthem each morning before the show.  It is generally not something I point out nor do I put a lot of pomp and circumstance around it.  I just play it.  Last week, a friend of mine contacted me to tell me that she used my show as a history lesson.

It seems her cousin who is in 6th grade didn't know what our National Anthem was.  He had heard it before my show, but never knew the meaning behind it.  I count this as a pretty big failure on several levels, and I started to think of all the different ways I've heard the song done.

Is the 10th and Winchester Intersection Safe Enough? [POLL]

The hottest topic at Monday night’s city council meeting was not one that was on the agenda, but instead was part of the “Health and Welfare” portion of the meeting.  Several citizens rose to talk about their concern with the safety of the intersection at 10th and Winchester Road located on the west edge of Sedalia.
