The Sedalia City Council met in regular session Monday night to discuss several ordinances and one resolution.

The meeting started by presenting a service award to Ellen Cross, for 10 years of service as an executive administrative aide with the Administration Department.

The Council approved amending the budget for fiscal year 2016-2017, regarding the use of seizure funds for a new computer voice stress analyzer.

Ordinance 10219 was also amended for approving and accepting an addendum to the agreement between the City of Sedalia and Richard Helmig, for adding more acreage of farmland that is adjacent to the Sedalia Regional Airport.

A supervised work release program was also approved between Sedalia and The Tipton Correctional Facility.

An application for a Hazardous Moving Grant through the Missouri Highway Safety Program was also approved, between the Sedalia Police Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation, Traffic and Highway Safety Division. The requested amount of the grant is $7,250.

And Resolution 1869 now declares the official intent of Sedalia to finance the costs of acquiring and constructing improvements to the City's water system.

A special council meeting will take place on March 16, to continue discussion of the budget for fiscal 2018. The meeting will take place at 6:00 p.m.
