With the 2012 election on the horizon, it's important to make sure that you have registered to vote in your area.  We've compiled this information from Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan's website to help Missouri residents register to vote in the upcoming election.

Pettis County along with the rest of Missouri held a primary election on August 7 to elect candidates for the November General Election. In spite of the fact that there were a lot of uncontested races, the election exceeded expectations according to the Pettis County Clerk Nick LaStrada, who said the voter turnout was 21% for Pettis County.

KSIS and the Sedalia Democrat are giving you a chance to get to know the candidates for this year's general election at an upcoming forum.  A candidates forum will begin at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, July 25 in the Thompson Conference Center of the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center on the State Fair Community College campus.  The candidates for assessor, treasurer, eastern commissioner and
