Two women were arrested on Tuesday night (Sept 4) in connection to thefts from department stores in Sedalia and Columbia.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Department, a deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the 800 block of NW 50 Hwy, however, the operator of the vehicle failed to yield.

The vehicle was reportedly located later in Cass County with assistance from the MSHP, Strasburg Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Lotawana and the Kansas City PD Aviation unit.

Two women, 18-year old Taylor M. Bozeman, of Raytown, and 18-year old Mickal D. Miller, of Kansas City, were taken into custody. Authorities say a subsequent search of the vehicle produced over $7,000.00 in new clothing that was stolen from several Department stores in Columbia and Sedalia.

The investigation is ongoing.
