Sedalia Police investigate two cases of gas theft on East Broadway

At 8:41 Tuesday morning Roto Rooter located at 3228 East Broadway reported property damage and theft to a company vehicle to the Sedalia Police. According to the complainant someone drilled a hole in a company van in order to steal gas. The complainant also told the officers this was the third such incident at the business. A second case of gas theft was reported by a victim in the 2100 block of East Broadway at 10:14 Tuesday morning. The victim told officers gas has been stolen from his vehicle over the past week. The latest theft took place during the overnight Monday according to the victim, when his tank went from half full to empty. There was no information on whether the two incidents were connected.

Forgery and fraud reported in the 2500 block of Bristol lane

Just before 3pm Monday afternoon a female complainant reported she had received a check on a business. The business said the check was a fake when she tried to cash it. The forged check was in the amount of $1980.56. There was no other information in the police report.

Two cases of vandalism reported on Sedalia’s Westside

Monday afternoon a male victim in the 500 block of West 4th reported his home had windows broken out, and around 6am Tuesday morning a victim in the 1600 block of South Carr reported someone threw two pieces of asphalt at his home. The victim said one piece of asphalt hit the siding and fell on the porch, and the other one went through the glass and window of a storm door and landed in his living room. There were no suspects, and it was not known if the two incidents were connected.

Stolen motorcycle located in a back yard of a neighbor

Around 11am Monday morning Sedalia police reported a complainant in the 1000 block of South Grand reported finding a small motorcycle in their back yard. The motorcycle had a damaged switch, and the contents of its glove box was scattered over the yard. According to the report officers located the owner of the motorcycle who lived in the same block. There were no suspects at newstime.

A Red Huffy Bicycle with the words  Ricon and Super on the frame was reported stolen in the 1200 block of South Lamine Monday evening.
