4-Year-Old Child reportedly running with dogs Sunday Morning

According to a Sedalia Police report, at 8:13 Sunday Morning officers were dispatched to 15th and Montgomery on a child around 4-years-old running with 4-dogs. The police report states the were able to locate the girl’s home, and return her to her parents. The police report also states a call all was made to the Child Abuse/Neglect Hotline in the incident.

Two shooting incidents investigated by Sedalia Police Saturday

Saturday morning the Sedalia Police received reports of two shots fired incidents. At 1:45am Saturday morning the first call  sent officers to the 500 block of West Jefferson in reference to a shooting, with the possibility, that someone had been shot. Upon arrival the police report states there was evidence of a shooting, and blood at the scene. The officers reportedly collected the evidence, which has been sent to a lab for DNA testing. At 6:18am the a second call came in from the area of 13th and Kentucky. Upon arrival officers located a vehicle in the area that had been shot by a shotgun. The police report states evidence was collected at the scene on that incident too. Both these cases are under investigation by the Sedalia Police Department.

34-year-old Sedalia man arrested on warrants Saturday morning

At 11:45 Saturday morning Sedalia Police observed a suspect in the 700 block of South Grand known to have warrants. The police report states following confirmation of the warrant 34-year-old Richard Allen Kurtz of Sedalia was arrested and taken to the Pettis County jail pending a $7500 bond on Pettis County Warrants for a probation violation, and a forgery warrant.

Man arrested Saturday night for violation of an Ex-Parte

Around 7:15 Saturday night Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of East 6th on a suspect in violation of an ex-parte/full order of protection. Arrested at the scene was 43-year-old John Paul Jones. At the time of the police report Jones was on 24-hour hold pending state charges.

Sedalia man in jail on a Camden County warrant

Just after 8am Saturday morning Sedalia Police arrested 29-year-old Joshua Parker of Sedalia on a failure to appear warrant out of Camden County. At the time of the police report Parker was in the Pettis County jail pending a $10,000 bond.

Woman arrested for stealing from a store on Sedalia’s eastside

At 10:41 Sunday morning Sedalia Police responded to a theft complaint from a store in the East Side Shopping Center in the 700 block of East Broadway. Upon arrival management told the officers a female suspect had taken a phone charger and attempted to leave the store without paying. The woman had left prior to the officer’s arrival, but she was located a short distance away. Arrested in the theft was 33-year-old Helen Melissa Jones of Sedalia. She was transported to the Pettis County jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending state charges.

Shoplifter arrested at Walmart Saturday afternoon

Just after 1:30 Saturday afternoon the Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Walmart Store on a shoplifter. Upon arrival officers arrested 42-year-old Shannon George Wheatley of Sedalia, and transported her to the Pettis County jail. Wheatley was placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Sedalia man in jail on a no-bond probation violation warrant

At 8:13 Sunday morning Sedalia Police arrested 41-year-old Donald G. Nagler of Sedalia on a no-bond probation violation warrant, and a failure to appear warrant with an $850 bond.

Owners of dogs that attacked a man Friday gets summons’

On Friday Sedalia Police Officers investigated an animal attack in the area of the 400 block of New York Avenue. Upon arrival the two-dogs were taken to the animal shelter, and the owners were given Municipal Court Summons’. There was no mention of injuries to the victim in the police report.

Cole Camp man arrested on a failure to appear warrant Sunday

At 2:31 Sunday afternoon Sedalia Police arrested 25-year-old Caleb Shepard of Cole Camp on a city warrant for failure to appear. Bond on the warrant was $150 cash only.

Local Sprint Store reports a theft Saturday morning

At 8:10 Saturday morning Sedalia Police responded to the Sprint Store at 1708 West Broadway on a burglary complaint. Upon arrival a manager told them when she arrived at the store a secure area was open. The report also states a cash drawer with $686.52 and some keys that fit various locations in the store was taken. The manager gave officers information on a suspect she believes is responsible for the theft.
