Local Homeless man in jail for peace disturbance at two Sedalia stores

At 7:07 Thursday morning Sedalia police responded to a reported disturbance at Breaktime and Wood’s Supermarket on East Broadway. Upon arrival officers met with a female victim who told them a suspect known to her had threatened to harm her by throwing her bike at her, and cursing her and other customers entering Woods. The Breaktime Store also reported the suspect for incidents there. Officers arrested 51-year-old Alvin O. Brown a homeless person, and transported him to the Pettis County jail. At the time of the police report Brown was on 24-hour hold pending charges of private peace disturbance, trespassing 1st degree, and 2nd degree burglary.

Suspect arrested for stealing a motor vehicle early this (Friday) morning

Around 5:15 this (Friday) morning Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of North Mill on a vehicle theft. The police report states another officer located the vehicle in the 1300 block of East Booneville. The suspect identified as 49-year-old George Chavez Smith of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on 24-hour hold pending formal charges of tampering with a motor vehicle. The police report also states the suspect had a failure to appear warrant with a cash only bond of $106.50.

Sedalia woman arrested on a Higginsville warrant this (Friday) morning

According to a Sedalia Police report at 5:16 this (Friday) morning Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 900 block of East 15th. Arrested at the scene was 34-year-old Nicole Sue McNeal of Sedalia. At the time of the police report she was being held in the Pettis County jail pending a $150 bond on a failure to appear warrant from the Higginsville Police Department.

Kansas Sheriff’s Department is investigating a sexual assault involving a local person

At 1pm Thursday afternoon the Sedalia Police Department was contacted by Child Safe of Central Missouri in reference to an allegation of a sexual assault, that occurred in Norton County Kansas. The alleged victim lives in Sedalia, and the Norton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance from the Sedalia Police Department.

A self-propelled lawnmower is reported stolen in the 2400 block of Margaret

On Thursday a victim in the 2400 block of Margaret Avenue reported a Red Toro Self Propelled Lawnmower had been taken from the back yard of their residence sometime overnight. There were no suspects at news time.
