Afternoon Sedalia Police Crime Reports For October 6, 2014
Eldon man arrested for driving while intoxicated and an active warrant
Just before 6pm Saturday evening Sedalia Police were dispatched to the East City Limits on a report of an intoxicated driver leaving a business in that area. Upon arrival officers located the suspect, and stopped the vehicle on a traffic violation. Following an investigation the driver 21-year-old Payton Sawyer Atteberry of Eldon was found to be intoxicated, and to also have a warrant out of Lake Ozark. Atteberry was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail, pending a $408 bond on the warrant, and formal charged for driving while intoxicated.
36-year-old Sedalia man arrested for assaulting his girlfriend
Around 8am Saturday morning Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of South Barrett on a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to the female victim, who told them her boyfriend, 36-year-old Noah J. Mitchell had assaulted her the previous night. The police report states minor injuries were observed on the woman’s face. Mitchell was located at a residence and arrested. At the time of the police report Mitchell had been booked and release on charges of 3rd degree domestic assault and 2nd degree property damage.
Intoxicated man drives through a front yard early Sunday morning
At 1:16am Sunday morning Sedalia police responded to a report of someone driving in the front yard of a residence in the area of 13th and Lafayette. The vehicle left the scene prior to the arrival of police officers, but was located a few blocks away at 13th and Center. The police report states upon contact with the driver 30-year-old Aurelio N. Rubio of Sedalia he was found to be intoxicated, and was operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator’s license. Rubio was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.
51-year-old Sedalia woman arrested for driving while suspended Friday night
According to a Sedalia Police report a subject was observed driving a vehicle at Wilkerson and Quincy who was known to be suspended. Following a traffic stop dispatch confirmed, that the driver 51-year-old Anna Louise Ritter of Sedalia was driving while suspended. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail pending formal charges.
Three people arrested on failure to appear warrants
Just after 3:30pm Friday afternoon 52-year-old Gwenda J. Smith of Sedalia was arrested on a Morgan County Warrant with a cash only bond of $175.
Around 11:15pm Sunday night 34-year-old Stephanie Lona Wiseman of Sedalia was arrested on a failure to appear warrant with a bond of $150.
At 1:25 Friday afternoon 17-year-old Taylor Perry of Sweet Springs turned herself into the Sedalia Police for having a Municipal failure to appear warrant, with an $88.50 bond.
Hit and run accident reported Thursday afternoon
Around 3:30 Thursday afternoon a victim in the 600 block of East 11th reported his vehicle was damaged in a hit and run. The police report is investigating the accident, which could be connected to another accident in the area at the same time according to the police report.
Several recent theft complaints are being investigated by the Sedalia Police
Sunday afternoon a complainant at the Walmart Store told Sedalia Police Officers she had discovered a theft while reviewing surveillance videos. According to the complainant two-female suspects were observed using a knife to cut open packaging, and remove items. There were 38 items the women reportedly placed into their purses according to the complainant, valued at over $730. The thefts are under investigation at this time.
On Friday Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a woman in the 1300 block of East 11th. The veictim told the officers a thief or thieves stole two gold rings, and her debit card. The suspect had not been located at the time of the police report.
A female victim in the 1200 block of South Moniteau reported Friday, that the front license plate of her vehicle had been stolen. The victim said the theft took place sometime over the previous 24-hours.
