Sedalia Police were dispatched to the LeMaire's Seafood restaurant, 3500 West Broadway Boulevard Tuesday morning for a report of a theft.

When Officers arrived, they spoke with the owner of the restaurant. She stated that on Monday evening, she was notified that her gumball machine was on Facebook.

The surveillance video was checked at the restaurant, and it was on video being taken by a suspect on Sunday. The restaurant owner estimated the machine to be valued at $500.

Officers recognized the suspect and his vehicle in the video. Officers contacted a Pettis County Sheriff's Deputy, and they went to the suspect's address.

When contact was made with the suspect, he was informed of his Miranda rights. He stated he understood. During the interview, the suspect admitted to taking the gumball machine. He stated he thought it was trash.

Officers then took Brandon J. Miller, 39, of Sedalia, into custody for Stealing (3rd Offense). Miller was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
