Bag of Drugs Tossed From Vehicle During Police Chase

Sedalia Police attempted a traffic stop at Emmet and Saline at 7:12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 for moving violations.

But the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit, a bag allegedly containing drugs was thrown from the vehicle, according to a report. The bag was later recovered.

Once the vehicle was stopped, the driver, 59-year-old Wilbur Barnett of La Monte, was charged with 2nd degree drug trafficking, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Barnett was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked.
