Benton County Crash Injures Cole Camp Woman

The MSHP reported a two-vehicle crash in Benton County overnight that injured a Cole Camp woman.

20-year-old Thomas A. Choate of Lincoln was the driver of a southbound 2007 Pontiac G6 on Missouri 52 at Centerline Avenue at 12:25 a.m. Friday, when the driver failed to yield to an eastbound 2011 Chevy Equinox driven by 51-year-old Lynda K. Coates of Cole Camp and traveled into its path. The Equinox struck the passenger side of the G6. Both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Coates suffered minor injuries and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Cole Camp EMS.

Choate was reportedly uninjured, but was arrested by the Patrol and charged with minor in possession of alcohol, C& I driving and no seat belt. He was taken to the Benton County Jail, where he was booked and released.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
