A Blue Springs woman was killed in a Benton County accident Saturday night on US Highway 65.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 32-year-old Andralee A. Taylor was the driver of a northbound 2009 Toyota Camry on US 65, one mile north of Route MM at 7:45 p.m., when she was in the process of overtaking another vehicle and swerved to avoid a head-on collision with oncoming traffic. The driver lost control and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and hit a tree, and came to rest on its top, facing southeast.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene by Benton County Coroner J. Weston Miller at 8:04 p.m. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report. The body was taken to the Benton County Coroner's Office.

The Camry was totaled and towed from the scene.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
