Butler Motorcyclist Killed in Bates County Crash

A Butler man was killed in a motorcycle accident that occurred Saturday night in Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2016 Kia Rio, driven by 23-year-old Isabella Oltremare of Columbia, was southbound on the I-49 exit ramp around 7:30 p.m. She then turned eastbound onto Missouri 52. A 2006 Harley Davidson, driven by 36-year-old Nickolas T. Alkire of Butler, was westbound on 52 and began skidding. The motorcycle then struck the Kia.

Alkire was taken to Bates County Memorial Hospital and later pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m., by Ambulance Administrator Russ Hisenand. Oltremire suffered minor injuries and refused treatment on scene.

Bates County Deputies, Fire & EMA assisted the Troopers.
