A California couple were injured after their motorcycle overturned Sunday afternoon in Moniteau County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2009 Harley Davidson FLHX, driven by 56-year-old Jay R. Walton of California, was on US 50 at Route H at 4:43 p.m., when Walton attempted to avoid traffic in front of him and the Harley traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Walton suffered serious injuries, and was flown to University Hospital by MU Air Care, while his passenger, 58-year-old Blanche F. Estep of California, was transported by Cole County EMS to University Hospital for treatment.

The Harley Davidson was totaled.
