A Camdenton man was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday in Camden County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2012 Mazda 6 driven by 60-year-old Tracy M. Kemp of Fulton was traveling on Missouri 5, north of the Business 5 overpass, when it struck the rear of a northbound 1990 Ford F-150 driven by 70-year-old Tommy D. Ward of Camdenton at 1:39 p.m.

The impact forced the Ford to travel off the right side of the roadway. It then struck an embankment and overturned. Ward was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Ward was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:33 p.m. by Jason Funke with the Camden County Medical Examiner's Office. The body was taken to Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton.

Both vehicles were totaled.

This was Troop F's 13th fatality for June and the 33rd for 2020.
