Carrollton Man Killed in 18-wheeler Rollover

A Carrollton man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident that occurred Tuesday in Carroll County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 71-year-old Larry G. Edwards of Carrollton was the driver of an eastbound 2018 Freightliner Fuel Tanker on Highway E at Highway OO just after 5 p.m., when the truck traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected, causing the 18-wheeler to travel onto the left shoulder and overturn.

Edwards was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Reed at 5:25 p.m. The body was taken to Bittiker's Funeral Home.

The Freightliner was totaled.

Carroll County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
