After watching the television show 'Killing Lincoln' last night, I can officially say I felt cheated. I believe the story, as well as the Kennedy assassination, have been exploited and over-analyzed for years, and people like me only watch shows about them in the hope that the author has gained some insight or uncovered some new fact that will add some interest to the subject.

I have spent several days putting up my outside Christmas lights, and I have become what my grandmother referred to as "flumixed" which is a more polite way of saying how I felt earlier today.

The election is now behind us, and after getting a chance to cover the election results from the Pettis County Courthouse, I had the chance to finally watch the national coverage. I have to say, this will not be a rant on the results and whether I agreed with them or not because I think you have received enough of that in the last 24 hours.  However, some of you wanted to talk about the coverage,

Is it just me, or is it a little silly to see a newsman knee deep in flood waters doing a news report on an approaching storm like Hurricane Sandy? Do they really think we don't know what a flooded street looks like?

You may have strong political opinions, but new research finds that those hardcore rants you've been posting on Facebook lately just might be losing you some friends in your social media circle.

Usually there is a line that even the lowest criminal will not cross.  That line is the one that takes advantage of a tragedy. In the police report for July 26, 2012, there was one of those stories that points out that we have someone in this area who has stooped that low.

Let the griping begin. The Dollar General at 3rd and Osage is going away and is getting replaced by the one on North Ohio. When I was in the store earlier today I talked to a customer there, who could have voiced an opinion held by many people who are used to walking to the old store from the homes close to that store.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the small watermelons and grapes the stores are stocking now? A few years ago big watermelons and globe grapes were everywhere, as were those big South African black grapes that had such good taste...

As someone who watches the price of gas closely for some sign of reason for the raising or lowering of the price, I have to say that I am confused most of the time.Most of us would believe it should have nothing to do with some Sheikh in a small Arab country catching a cold, but the oil companies will use that excuse if there is no other.
