Concordia Man Killed After Vehicle Strikes Telephone Pole
A Concordia man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon in Lafayette County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by 41-year-old Justin W. McGinnis of Concordia, was on Highway 23 at Concordia Lake Road at 3:41 p.m., when the vehicle crested a hill and became airborne, striking a telephone pole.
McGinnis, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Cox at 4:21 p.m.
The body was taken to Hoefner Funeral Home in Higginsville.
The Pontiac was totaled.
Lafayette Deputies assisted the Troopers on scene.
