One of Missouri's best places to go for a vacation, or a weekend getaway is the Lake of the Ozarks.  This Saturday, their Boat Parade will attempt to make history.  They will be trying to set a Guinness World Record.  Last year’s boat parade drew plenty of attention—and boaters—with over 600 participants from many states, who came to attempt to break the record and make history.

The Lake of the Ozarks Boat Parade returns for 2022, in a second attempt to break the Guinness World Record for Largest Boat Parade! This year's Lake of the Ozarks Boat Parade starts at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 11, at the 3MM of the Grand Glaize Arm. To break the record, the parade must swell to 1,181 boats.

If you want to be a part of the parade, you can click HERE to register.

According to LakeExpo.com here are the details that you will need to know:

• Pre-registration is required: $20. This fee and donations from sponsors cover the cost of the parade flags and the cost to bring Guinness Book to the Lake to certify the event. Any proceeds over cost will be donated to the Lake of the Ozarks Water Safety Council.

• Boats must run at Idle Speed during the Parade.

• Boats must display the 2022 Parade Flag. Parade flags can be picked up this week until Friday evening at Mortgage Headquarters in Osage Beach. The last chance to pickup a flag is Saturday morning at Pa He Tse (Lake of the Ozarks Marina), near Public Beach No. 2.

• Parade Boats need to display the Parade Flag on the LEFT side of the boat. Please make sure no other flags obscure visibility of the parade flag to assure the boat is counted.

• Guinness Book will disqualify any boat displaying political flags. American flag are allowed.

• If you do not have a parade flag visible, your vessel will not be counted.

For the record, the current Guinness World Record is held in Malaysia with 1,180 boats.  The parade is hoping for 1200.  I hope they get it.  Forecast is for about 80 degrees and no rain! Perfect weather for a boat ride.
