Death Investigation Underway Following Morgan County Shooting

A 29-year-old man died from a gunshot wound, and his girlfriend was arrested, after Versailles Police were called to an address on W. Williamson St.

According to the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, police responded to a call of a man suffering from a gunshot wound around 7 p.m. on August 12. Upon arrival, officers discovered Justin Wittrock deceased from a single gunshot wound.

30-year-old Angela Keefe, who resided at the home with Wittrock, was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm. Keefe was taken to the Morgan County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held.

An autopsy was scheduled for 9 a.m. on August 14 in Columbia.
