On Feb. 26 at 12:43 a.m., Pettis County Deputies attempted a traffic stop near Highway 50 and Park on a tan 2005 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Christopher Dale Paxton, 36, of Windsor.

Paxton fled from Deputies which prompted a pursuit that lasted five minutes. Due to the high speed in the downtown Sedalia area, Deputies slowed their speed and terminated the pursuit.

A short time later, a citizen called Sedalia Police and advised a vehicle had wrecked and a male subject matching Christopher Paxton's description fled from the vehicle.

Pettis County Deputies arrived on scene and searched the vehicle for evidence. Deputies submitted charges of felony resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and felony driving while revoked.
