A Warrrensburg woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon after her dog jumped into her lap while she was driving.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Kelsey M. Brown of Warrensburg was the driver of a northbound 2015 Chevy Cruze on Highway WW and SE 950 Road in Johnson County at 2:08 p.m., when her dog jumped into her lap, causing Brown to lose control of the vehicle.

The Chevy traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its top.

Brown suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by ambulance.

The Chevy was totaled and towed from the scene by Tip Top Towing.

Henry County deputies assisted the Patrol.
