Sedalia Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of South Barrett Monday morning.

Officers were advised the subject was shirtless and was beating his son. The suspect's children had fled into another residence to get away from the suspect. Officers tried to contact the suspect, who began yelling at them.

The suspect entered a neighboring residence without permission, to go after the children. The suspect grabbed his son, placing him into a bear hug hold on the floor. There were concerns for the safety of the children.

The suspect was told to turn around and place his hands behind his back. The suspect then began resisting officers. He was taken into custody and later placed in a WRAP unit, due to being combative.

Anthony J. Henson, 36, of Sedalia, was taken to the BRHC, where he was deemed fit for confinement. Henson was then transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold.

State charges of Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, two counts of Abuse or Neglect of a Child, Assault in the 4th Degree, Kidnapping in the 2nd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, felony Resisting Arrest, and Burglary in the 1st Degree were filed against Henson.
