Early Thursday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West 32nd Street and Erika Avenue for no registration displayed.

Upon contact with the driver, he refused to get out of the vehicle and fled from the stop. The vehicle was not pursued by Officers.

The vehicle and the male subject were later located in the area of McCurdy Lane by Pettis County Deputies. The vehicle was later discovered to be stolen out of Johnson County.

Jeffery Eugene Tyler, 32, homeless, was arrested for Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree and felony Resisting Arrest.

Tyler was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of state charges.
